Farm Boy is opening its 35th location at 417 King Street North (at Weber Street) in Waterloo on January 7.

The store will be 26,725 sq. ft. and will create 130 jobs tending to the fresh foods and grab-and-go options the market is known for.

“We are excited to kick-off another busy year of store openings with our 35th location in Waterloo,” said Jean-Louis Bellemare, president of Farm Boy. “Our new team will live up to our Farm Boy promise to provide the safest, freshest food experience with top-notch customer service.”

Farm Boy started in Cornwall, Ontario, in 1981 as a small produce stand.

At the new location, customers will find locally made products, full-service salad- and hot-bar as well as fresh chef-inspired meals, marinated meats and savoury and sweet good made from scratch in the Farm Boy bakery.

There will also be 14-day aged Canadian AAA beef, sustainable seafood, fresh Ontario produce (in season), a grill station for eat-on-the-go foods, plant-based options, and over 400 cheeses.
