Farm to Table

Farm to Table: Celebrating Stratford Chefs School Alumni, Recipes & Perth County Producers was published to recognize the achievements and contributions made by the Stratford Chefs School (SCS) and its graduates over the past 35 years.

The book pairs Perth County farmers and producers with SCS graduates to create a recipe that showcases the skill and imagination of the cook alongside the produce nurtured by dedicated and hard-working farmers.

The spectacular pictures are by Terry Manzo, photographer and graduate of the School.

Cooking with Shakespeare

“Feasts, banquets, and everyday meals were central to daily life in Elizabethan England, a world reflected so lavishly in Shakespeare’s plays.”

My friend Mark Morton and I wrote this interesting collection of recipes and culinary and socio-economic history from the era of Shakespeare. Mark did all the hard and smart stuff and wrote the prose in this nifty volume; I took ye olde recipes and updated them from the Tudor period with ingredients you use today (rather than proteins like peacocks and sparrow brains).
