Taste Real summer challenge

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Wellington County’s Taste Real programme has launched a new local food campaign for the month of August.

The Taste Real Summer Challenge encourages staycation-type activities and fun outings and food-related adventures this summer. That includes events to take in such as farm tours, picnics, and patio visits.

“We have an excellent home-grown food culture in Wellington County”, says Economic Development Committee Chair George Bridge.

“While many farms have seen an increase in demand for local food during the pandemic, we know that other businesses, especially in the foodservice sector, are struggling. The Taste Real Summer campaign is a great way to show support for local businesses and an opportunity to discover exciting new spots close to home.”

You are encouraged to share photos of your outings, purchases, and dishes via social media with hashtag #tasterealsummer.

All photos will be entered to win $200 worth of gift cards to local food restaurants. Here’s how to participate:

— Pick events listed on the Taste Real website;
— Snap a photo and share with hashtage #tasterealsummer;
— Make sure profile/photo permissions are set to public.

Participation details and the full line up of experiences can be found at www.tastereal.ca.
