“No Sun Sales:” farm gate food stands

Reading Time: 2 minutes

You see them everywhere as you drive through Waterloo Region’s countryside – road side stands known as Farm Gates offering everything from summer sausage and eggs to fresh picked fruits and vegetables.

To help you know where to find local farm gate stands, Explore Waterloo Region has developed a Farm Gate Map for the region.

“Waterloo Region is home to some of the province’s best agricultural land,” says Minto Schneider, CEO of Explore Waterloo Region. “Our Farm Gate Map will help connect people with local producers so they can take advantage of all the local products available throughout Waterloo Region’s townships.”

The Farm Gate Map includes stands in the townships of Woolwich, North Dumfries, Wellesley and Wilmot, with the number of locations continuing to grow. “We’re adding additional farm gates to the map as we discover them,” says Schneider, “and we’re hoping people will help us by providing the locations of their favourite Waterloo Region farm gate stands!”
